STABLESMP STAFF

Staff Expectations & Enforcement Guide

How staff enforce player rules, and how staff are expected to act themselves.

OUR MAIN GOALGROW STABLESMP.

More players joining, more players staying, a stronger community, and a server people want to be part of.

PLAYER RULES

Rules & Enforcement

How staff should judge player behavior and handle discipline.

ENFORCEMENT
📑 Overview

Staff are responsible for maintaining a fair, competitive, and enjoyable environment on StableSMP.

Player experience comes first.
⚖️ Gameplay vs Abuse
Allowed Gameplay
  • Scamming
  • Raiding
  • Griefing
  • PvP
Abuse
  • Repeatedly targeting players
  • Harassment or toxic behavior
  • Exploits, dupes, or unintended mechanics
  • Automation or unfair advantages
  • Intentional lag or disruption
Always ask: “Is this gameplay, or is this abuse?”
🔨 Discipline Approach
  • Start with the least severe action when appropriate.
  • Escalate based on behavior and repetition.
  • Act immediately in serious situations.
  • Be consistent across all players.
🧭 Handling Situations
  • Do not interfere in scams, raids, or economy-related outcomes.
  • Step in only when behavior crosses into abuse.
  • Verify before acting — avoid assumptions.
  • Stay calm and controlled at all times.
Enforcement Principles
  • Consistency > speed
  • Fairness > personal opinion
  • Judgment > strict scripting
Staff protect the system — not outcomes.
STAFF RULES

Staff Conduct & Expectations

How staff should behave, participate, and represent StableSMP.

STAFF
👮 Staff Expectations
  • Be fair and consistent in all decisions.
  • Stay neutral — do not take sides.
  • Enforce rules, not emotions.
  • Prioritize the server experience over individuals.
  • Use judgment in every situation.
🧑‍⚖️ Staff Conduct
  • No favoritism.
  • No arguing with players.
  • No emotional or impulsive decisions.
  • No abuse of power or position.
Staff who abuse their role will be removed.
💀 Player Heads & Worth

The head system exists to create risk and player-driven gameplay. Staff are expected to participate in it like normal players.

You can protect yourself, reject suspicious TPs, avoid bad fights, and play strategically — but having a valuable head is not a reason to remove yourself from player interaction or PvP entirely.

Valuable heads are meant to create hunts, rivalries, and stories. Protect your value, don’t remove yourself from the game.

Lead by example and participate in the systems we expect players to participate in.
🎯 Bounties

Bounties exist to create opportunities for players, not staff.

Staff can participate normally, but should never coordinate, trade, or intentionally claim each other’s bounties just to collect the reward or prevent regular players from getting it.

If a bounty is placed on you, play it out naturally. Protect yourself, fight back, run, get allies — but don’t arrange who gets the kill or manipulate the outcome.

Staff should be creating gameplay for the community, not taking it away.
⚙️ All Server Systems

Staff are expected to participate in StableSMP’s systems the same way we expect players to.

Do not use staff knowledge, permissions, or coordination to gain an advantage or avoid intended risk in the economy, stocks, events, claims, PvP, shops, teams, quests, or any other gameplay system.

If you’re unsure whether something crosses that line, ask before doing it.
💤 Staff Activity & Inactivity

Real life always comes first. If you need to step away for an extended period, let leadership know — there is no punishment for needing time away.

Staff inactive for 30+ days without communication may be moved off the active team so the roster reflects who is currently helping run the server.

Returning later does not automatically restore your previous rank; we’ll get you caught up and determine where you fit within the current team.

Staff positions are held through active involvement and responsibility — not seniority.
🚫 Accountability

Repeatedly ignoring these expectations, including after clarification or warning, may result in removal from the staff team.

Our Main Goal

GROW STABLESMP.

We want more players joining, more players staying, a stronger community, and a server that continues to grow.

Ask yourself: “Is what I’m doing helping the server, the community, or the player experience?”

We aren’t here just to moderate chat. We’re here to help build something people want to be part of.

If growing StableSMP and creating a better player experience doesn’t align with what you want from staff, then staff may simply not be the right role for you.
